Portuguese midfielder Matheus Nunes faces an uncertain future after Manchester City signed Ilkay Gundoan back from Barcelona.
The Ufabet reports that Manchester City are considering the future of expensive midfielder Nunes after he failed to prove himself in Pep Guardiola’s team since moving from Wolverhampton last year.
Nunes joined Manchester City from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a reported £53million last summer but has struggled to establish himself in Guardiola’s side, finishing the 2023-24 season having made just 17 Premier League appearances, mostly as a substitute.
Newcastle United, Liverpool, Chelsea, West Ham United and Everton are all reportedly interested in Nunes and a loan deal with an option to buy would likely be in the cards. But it would require a figure of at least £40m.
For Manchester City, Gundogan has just signed Promotion Ufabet back from Barcelona after moving to the Camp Nou for a year. Playing 51 games in all competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing 14 assists.
According to the Ufabet, Newcastle have been keeping an eye on his situation. But can only offer a loan deal at this stage of the window. Liverpool and Chelsea showed interest earlier in the window, and now West Ham and Everton are also monitoring developments. With a loan offer and £40m option to buy being the most likely package.
