Lazio have contacted Jorge Mendes over a potential move for James Rodriguez. Mendes has reportedly sent a request to various clubs to consider the Colombian attacking midfielder. After the player left Brazilian giants Sao Paulo and hopes to return to Europe football.

Lazio have sent an inquiry to Mendes regarding Rodriguez’s details. With the player keen to return to Europe but waiting to sort out his bonus before officially parting ways with Sao Paulo.

It is expected that Lazio’s discussions with James’s representatives will proceed simultaneously. With the Blue Eagles waiting for details to assess the feasibility. 

In addition to Lazio, Napoli are also being linked with James Rodriguez. But Lazio’s situation looks better as they have already started to make moves for the player.

Lazio have already been incredibly active in the first month of the summer transfer window. Picking up Loum Tchaouna, Tijjani Noslin, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Gaetano Castrovilli and Nuno Tavares. A few more reinforcements are expected to arrive before the end of the market.

The 33-year-old forward is available on a free transfer and is looking for a two-year contract worth around €4m net per season. He has also been offered to Aston Villa, Wolves and Nottingham Forest, amongst other clubs.
