Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has urged his players to learn more about the recent defeat to Leicester City that has given them the chance to draw closer to Manchester City.
Klopp said: “If we play our way, the Liverpool way, we have a chance to win. However, I don’t know how to explain it. ”
“But losing is losing. We need to learn and we will. The first thing is not to let this happen again. We lost our rhythm and were not calm enough to come back. That was our mistake.”
The defeat leaves Liverpool six points behind Manchester City and will rise to nine if City beat Brentford on Wednesday.
“It’s a big gap [against Man City] but at the moment it’s not my problem,” Klopp said of the situation in the table.
Many are tipping the race to go right down to the wire, with Chelsea also believed to be challengers, but Klopp says his side won’t be in contention with more performances like this.
“If we play like this then we won’t have to think about it to be honest,” he told talkSPORT afterwards.
“If we play our usual football we have the chance to win quite a few football games. If we do that we’ll see but we have to play better.”
